Blessing and Sacrifice

God doesn't call us to blessing so we can achieve sacrifice.   God calls us to sacrifice so we can achieve blessing.

Nowhere in scripture does God promise us there will be no struggle.   He does promise that when there is struggle, he wants to carry the burden.  And by trusting him in our struggle he can help us ascend to a peace that is made perfect by the act of trusting Him in the midst of the struggle.

If your pursuit of God is motivated by receiving a blessing, you're an idolater.   The idol of self blessing is your God.

If your pursuit of God is in response to His pursuit of you, and out of an understanding of God's overwhelming love for you, you are inspired to rearrange your life and place the needs of others above your needs,  THEN, the result of that...   you will receive a blessing beyond that of worldly riches and physical health.

Seek FIRST Gods kingdom and all of these things will be added.  Mt 6:33

Don't forget what comes FIRST!

So the critical question that all Christians must understand is "What is the Kingdom of God?"

Matthew 5:3-14 express perfectly what we are to pursue.  And in this pursuit, we will be "Blessed".
